You will need to make sure the newly created key is authorized If you want a more secure transfer you can use secure ftp (sftp). Then you are right where you were before you updated to the latest filezilla. However, unless I am missing something, if you were using an old version of filezilla, you were using plain ftp before anyway! So the simple solution is to change the setting in the site manager ftp encryption section of filezilla to use plain ftp. Found a solution that is better than plain ftp. The shared ssl will not work as far as I can tell. TLS cannot be used unless you have a dedicated ip and a valid ssl certificate.
